Christmas Firsts

Naked treesThis year I really wanted the kids to have individual trees. I wasn’t sure if I wanted real miniature trees to put in their rooms or fake ones. While on a weekly shopping trip to Target I found these adorable mini Christmas trees for $3.00. Score! I snagged two. Walked around the corner and found a tube of mini decorations for a $1.00. This was my lucky day! Before leaving I grabbed some festive string for gift wrapping and headed out. Super easy, and cheap, activity for the kids. Plus it adds a little somethin’ somethin’ to the house during the holidays. I couldn’t quite bring myself to get lights for their trees for fear they’d want to leave them on all night, and their room would catch on fire while we were sleeping. #fearissues

In addition to our mini trees, my family and I got to attend my son Rivers’ first Christmas program. Too cute! Twelve four-year olds singing “Frosty the Snowman” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, amongst other ditties, was just too cute. Sadly my child was the only one who couldn’t keep it together and ended up crying. 😦 Poor kid. Better luck next year. I love him so very much and he did such a fabulous job. Here are a few pics from his performance.

Merry Christmas!!
